Indian Rubber Institute to enhance its activities in the field of Polymer Science & Rubber Technology is setting up a Centre of Excellence in the premises of JSS Science and Technology University, Mysuru, Karnataka, India, for providing education, training, research, testing and skill development to the people in organized and unorganized sector specially in micro, small and medium sector rubber manufacturing units. This centre is also planning to provide support in the areas of new technology development, product design, simulation and modeling, project planning, testing and evaluation and reconstruction of compounding formulation and its development. The construction of 32000 square feet building is already completed. This centre will have an auditorium having a seating capacity of 225 people, training hall, full-fledged library cum documentation centre, different laboratories for physical, dynamic, aged and fatigue testing of rubber compounds, including failure analysis and reverse engineering of rubber products. These facilities also will be utilized for on the job training and skill development.
